It shows the land-use pattern for a typical city in a less economically developed country. Investigate any terms on the model that you do not understand and make a note of the major similarities and differences between the two models.

Y8- You have recently been investigating some work into migration and displacement. In your next topic you will be investigating “Fantastic Places”

Y11- You are in the process of completing your controlled assessment into the issues surrounding the impact of fairly traded products on people. You will be unable to complete this during progress review day. After continuing our investigation today into the positive and negative  imapcts of Fairtrade on people, Miss Hunnings showed me this recent article in the Guardian. This may well be a useful addition to your research… Give it a read and be prepared to discuss it at the start of our next lesson.

As part of your research into the issues surrounding trade… Have a look over this BBC News introduction to the World Trade Organization. Summerise two arguments for and two arguments against the WTO.

(2)    You SHOULD in preparation for an impending similarities and differences exam paper, complete your own revision concept map for both the work we have completed on Rajkot. You could use the following concepts on your map…

Employment, Agriculture, TNC’s, Health, Flooding, Government, Manufacturing growth, Flooding, Leicester, Traditional culture, Water, Slum housing, Rural to urban migration, Transport, Climate, Environment.

You know the routine! Spread these concepts out on a piece of paper and see if you can explain links between them. Do look back at your work to help you complete this task! If you think of any other concepts that you consider to be important for your own understanding of Rajkot, do add them to your map!

(3)    You COULD begin to prepare for next term.  We begin a brand new investigation… Whoop Whoop! We have two questions to answer before the Christmas break in Y11…To give you a sneak preview… In the order that we will investigate them, they are…
