Heavy Industry along the River Tees

January 27, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Hello Year 10!

You can access the voice thread that I showed you in the lesson today by clicking this link. You will need to register, but it is a painless process :)

Also of interest may be this short animoto video which shows images of the heavy industry along the Tees.

If you wanted to do some additional research before you put together your comments you might want to have a look at the Corus website and this recent BBC article which looks at the effects of the current economic downturn on the demand for steel.

Good luck!

Y10 Multinationals – good or bad?

March 23, 2007 · 1 Comment

Thought we had a superb lesson today Y10, what did you think…? I felt like we made some excellent progress. You really impressed me, you are coming on leaps and bounds, so well done!

We will be looking at multinationals next lesson and what advantages and disadvantages they can bring. There is an excellent geography website that has lots of information about a story involving these multinationls that we will examine next lesson. To keep one step ahead of the game, your homework for this week is to investigate what happened in Bhopal, India. Follow this link, and read two versions of the story to familiarise yourself with the different viewpoints on the disaster, guess which one I symapathise with…?

If you don’t like the idea of reading, there is an excellent video from the BBC you can watch online which is fantastic!
