the trade game itself was quite realistic it gave us an insight on what trading is really like unlucky for my group we were poor in the game and traded not much so it made me realise how lucky we are and how much the LEDC’S need our help and how lucky we are to have the technology and resources we have i found this a very rewarding game to play.

The trade game we played was a very no-nonsense game. My group and i were in a poor, unfortunate and unlucky group. The country that we were represented with was Tanzania. Being one of the traders of Tanzania I felt life was so unfair, poor, ill-fated, terrible, stressed, depressed, tension and no wealth. From my experience no one wanted to trade with us, the richer countries were taking advantage of us, we did not have much resources, not enough cash and no technology at all. We were bankrupt.

i think that the trade game helped us to understand how difficult it was to those poeple living in poorer parts of the world. the game was very hard for those counries with less money. though overall it was based on true facts that i think are really dumb because poorer countries did not get the same amount of money as the richer. though above all it helped us to learn the differences and difficulties of countries.

I liked plsying the game because my team was Japan and we were one of the rich countries. We had most of the resources and didn’t have difficulty making more money. I think that the game helped us to see what it is like being poor and rich.

The Game was unfair for some of the groups but not for all. My group started off as one of those poor less developed countries. It is depressing and annoying knowing that you have only some of the resources and others have more.It shows a real insight into what is really happening around the world.

hi The game was hard for poorer countries. I was in a poor company group in the game. It was quite hard for my group because we had hardly anything. I felt like i was really poor. This game was quite good and i learnt a few things.

I think that the experience I went through while playing the trade game is that the game was a bit biased against the Less Economically Developed Countries (LEDCs) in the Southern Hemisphere (Brazil, Tanzania, India, Kenya etc) as they did not have as many resources, technology or money than the More Economically Developed Countries (MEDCs) in the Northern Hemisphere (USA, Japan, UK etc). The country which my group and I represented was Brazil and we were a bit angry considering the fact we did not have as many resources as other countries. I think this game was very unfair and discriminatory even though it was based on current real life facts and statistics.

    hi
    was up,
i think i was vry unfair 2 da other countries cuz they didnt get as much dosh put they also got otha diff. equipment. so the rich countries were selling it to thee poor countries gor alot of money.
    ty peace out hommies

The trade game in my perspective was really unfair because seeing, for example, the U.K having so much resources and so much money while we had only one thing and paper really made me think how much the Brazilian people have to work in order to make money.

The Trade Game gave us a good insight and experience about the world we live in and now we can see why there is unfairness in the world. I was one of the richer countries, Japan, so we had all the resources and technology to complete the required tasks. We also had more money. This enabled us to do the task straight away, and because we had more resources than we needed, we could sell it to poorer countries who onlt has raw materials. Because they needed certain things which we had, we had power over them, so you could exploit poorer countries and take more money of them. The richer countries have wealth and power so they could exploit the poorer countries who had less of everything which is what made the game unfair. The richer countries have everything they need and more, wheras the poorer countries struggle and become bankrupt easily. We now know why poorer countries are the way they are.

I think the game was fair in a way because its life. Lifes cruel. being brazil we had limited resources ( paper n glue) and not much money. Me and smit were forced to steal from arjun. making money was realy hard for us

  • kajal5 // April 9, 2008 at 6:43 am

I thought this game was really unfair because some of the countries started the game with more resources than others. (The rich countries had more than the poor ones). India, started off poor but then became really rich. The game helped us understand how it’s like in the real world were poor countries are desperate to make money were as rich countries aren’t.

The trade game helped us to understand how the poorer (LEDC’S) countries feel and how they struggle in real life, the LEDC’S started of with only a few matierials and equipment, some of them did not even have any money to buy more equipment. The rich (MEDC’S) countries had loads of matierials and equipment and alot of money which helped them but it was a good game to show us how it feels to be countries that are rich or poor.

the trade game was telling how it fell to be in a poor and rich countryrich country you have to work hard and poor country you have to work less

  • jethwaarjun // April 9, 2008 at 8:38 am

it was telling us how hard is it to be a rich country and it was easy to be a poor country

  • mann180 // April 9, 2008 at 8:38 am

I think the trade game was not fair at all, as less economic developed countries did not have the advantages some more economic developed countries had,the equipment provided foe LEDC were quite appalling then the MEDC Soo this obviousley shows the immmaculate differcence.

The trade game was good as it made you realise what resources you had if you were a rich or poor country.

  • vik45h // April 13, 2008 at 1:00 pm

The Trade game in my perspective was quite intriguing, even though we were more one of the poorer countries (India). We finished round in the top three. Its how hard you work even if you are a poor country and trading is the key. You will see the LEDC countries with the primary goods have to be a bit more greedy as the MEDC countries with secondary goods because thats where MEDC countries make all the profit. Overall I enjoyed this game as it gave me a rough idea on how cruel the world and people can be if they have money.

The experience was fantastic as we got to see epspecially my group how hard it is when youre not the ruchest country around and you hardly trade. We also got to see what diffference there is betwwen LEDC countries compared to MEDC countries the world . The world is not a fair place! . in the conditions that the poor countries were living in with limited amount of goods they would hardly make any money over a period of time

Playing the trade game in geography made me think about how poorer countries (LEDC’s), such as Brazil, India, Kenya etc. struggle to make money, mainly because they have very little or no natural resources as well as equipment. Whereas richer countries (MEDC’s), such as USA, Japan, UK etc. are countries which you have to rely the most on, as they have a lot of natural resources as well as equipment, though when the rich countries run out of there natural resources, they traded, as they had a lot of money, making them even more money. If counties did not trade at all, could lead to countries getting poor, as they would eventually have nothing. This trade game was not fair at all, because rich countries had everything they needed to make money, whereas the other countries started with very little, or no natural resources or equipment to make money. This meant that the poor countries had to ask the “big bosses”, which were the rich countries, if they could trade, though there answer was no, as they had everything they needed and because they were selfish. Though when the rich countries run out of there natural resources, they traded, as they had a lot of money, making them even more money. This is the reason why some countries are poor and why some countries are rich, which I think is really unfair and every country should be equal.

I think that the trade game was not fair at all because for the poorer countries it was difficult to trade with the richer countries.I was one of the richer countries which was Japan,we had wealth,we were powerful, incontrol and also proud of our country. We had all the resources to complete the task on time.It taught us how difficult it was for the poorer countries because they didn’t have that much money as the richer countries had.

  • sonja494 // April 13, 2008 at 8:31 pm

I think that the trade was not fair it’s because we were in a poor country plus we had less money then the other richer countries,it taught us how much hard work the poor countries did.

  • nikesh21c // April 14, 2008 at 6:23 pm

I think that the trade game was a good way to learn who the more economic developed couintries had treated the less economic developed countries and how the less economic countries felt when all this was going on because they have only got the primary equipment where as the more economic countries had everything they needed such as the siccors and the compass but not a pencil (all manufactured equiptment).
